Yorkshire-based Mister Finch uses vintage textiles such as old aprons, used curtains, and a recycled wedding dress, to fashion out new life in the form of birds, spiders, rabbits, and other creatures. Inspired by the beautiful hillside landscape near his home and by British folkore, he has created a collection of fairytale creatures that each have a story to tell.
Mr. Finch has no formal training and is only self-taught, but it’s remarkable how he can flesh out whimsical, and at times, haunting characters from lost and forgotten material. Goes to show that a little bit of resourcefulness and a whole lot of imagination can make fantastic art.
